1. Bit of a revelation this. Should have did it a long time ago. The only (still) shit thing about itunes is the zero video codec support. I can use vlc streamer to watch stuff on the ipad but it's not perfect.
  2. Arent there other apps? I know VLC is on cydia.

  3. Not interested in jailbreaking yet. Playing videos through this remote app would be best but the converting is annoying. My quad core PC used to be fast....
  4. quad core should be able to do it.
  5. Although my quadcore is 4 years it is still pretty fast. Will be replaced with a laptop next month.

  6. It's doing it but it's slow. 10gb mkv to iPad mp4 > 49 minutes in and still an hour to to. Using Handbrake
  7. hmmm well i get around 30-40 fps when i encode to h264. Also not fast, but as long its above 24 its streamable with the right setup =P
  8. Handbrake is not the fastest encoder, but by far the easiest to use.

  9. amen. Been using it since my first iPod.
  10. I want all your funds... Think I'm finally getting that new phone, Galaxy Ace. Good smartphone at an affordable price. Should have it next week hopefully.

  11. Why don't you use an app instead of converting? I'm using AvPlayer HD (no jailbreaking requred) on my iPad 2 and there is no more converting needed, it plays all sorts of files including mkv. Also plays usual subtitle formats without problems.

How do you get the videos on to the iPad? Or is it streaming?
