1. I've used calibre before
  2. grazie mille
i will try as soon as i'll have the intersted iBook
  3. I haven't specifically tried to convert a book from the iBookstore before, I think I converted a PDF into ePub so that the iBooks app could display it. I think (although may be wrong) that books bought through Apple are protected and I'm not sure whether Calibre will be able to circumvent that.

Have you looked to see if the book is available on the Amazon Kindle store? That way you can read it using Kindle for PC.
  4. no it's only sold on iTunes
i have to steal iPad from my girlfriend then hehe
  5. I decided to do something with my old PC (2005) and laptop (2009).

So this is what I am already planning to do:
    - Make the internal 500 GB harddisk into an external harddisk.
    - Check what I can do with the RAM. The pc has a 512MB card, so that one will have no use, but the 4GB from the laptop might come in handy.

But is there moar I can do?
  6. The RAM modules wont be interchangeable between laptop and pc. If thats what you are getting at?

  7. I am not an expert, but I believe in some cases it will. Needs some checking.

  8. Sorry for spoiling your party, but they're just physically different. Desktop computers' RAM memories are longer (DIMM standard, 100, 168, 184, or 240 pins) and laptop RAMs are shorter (SO-DIMM, 72, 100, 144, or 200 pins), and more expensive too. A desktop memory won't fit in a laptop and viceversa. There are adaptors to use a laptop module in a desktop slot, but they're probably worth more than a brand new desktop memory...
  9. Don't feel sorry, I know they are different. I misunderstood Chris and want to transfer the laptop RAM to another laptop. That is not always possible, though.

Memories are usually interchangeable between different laptops, much easier than laptop>desktop at least.
