  3. The 620 is mine. And it's still awesome. Need a cheap spare phone though to GPS track my bike rides. Will have to be Android or Symbian for best multi tasking. Great excuse to get another N8.
  4. Hmm the 620 doesnt support that? I had it working reasonably well for the 800. But you need to be careful that you dont 'suspend' the app when a text comes in.

    Tracking apps work under lock screen on WP8 but if you switch to another app then your track gets suspended. I'm hoping to do quite lengthy rides this year so at times during a drinks stop I might need to fire a text off. This isn't a problem using Symbian or android as they will keep on tracking regardless.

  7. Same old Windows Phone. Almost there but keeps falling short in vital areas. The lack of a system wide back up facility is going to cause me to leave the platform if the time comes that I need to reboot the device. Unless you have taken screen shots you have absolutely no way of remembering your start screen layout.

    I'm stuck where I am though because I only rate high end android devices and the high end really isn't my scene any more.
  8. System wide backup is possible I think, but then to the other extreme. Complete system image, which includes the OS itself.

    Havent looked at it for a long time, but when flashing using unofficial ways there is a chance to backup.

    The in phone back up just saves a list of your apps and system settings does it not? Saved app data or save game data etc cannot be backed up. Or your home screen layout as mentioned above. Pain in the arse.
  10. Never use backups, only thing important to me are my contacts which are synced.
  11. Contacts are easy enough through google. It's just the time of reinstalling everything individually, logging in, pinning etc etc that I just couldn't be bothered with any more.
  12. There is MS page on the web listing all your app purchase / download history. You can then just click a link per app to download it to your phone. Its far from perfect and it doesnt make up for lost data. But more handy than using the phone's marketplace.
