The 6G technically no different to a touch or a 5G except for cover flow and a different type of material. Space is the same except for the 160GB drive and that's it, and battery life improved by a couple of hours.

It does use different hardware (an utterly-cheap audio chip) which has worse sound. Don't buy one...you'll be sorely disappointed.

Anyway...I do like these from Bose (and the support is pretty good):

Bose® around-ear headphones answer the call for smooth, high-performance sound in a lightweight package. Hear a greater range of music whether you are plugged into a computer or on the go with a portable media device. Proprietary Bose TriPort headphone technology reveals the rich acoustical landscape of your music so you can experience the intricate notes of an acoustic guitar, the full range of vocals and even the beat of a drum with greater clarity and impact. Their ergonomic design keeps them remarkably comfortable and lightweight with soft ear cushions fitting gently around your ears for hours of comfortable listening.

    * Bose® around-ear headphones pull it all together: high-performance sound, comfortable fit and stylish design for an eye-catching, ear-pleasing audio experience.
    * Proprietary Bose® TriPort technology features small ports in the earcups to produce a rich audio performance remarkable for headphones this small.
    * Acoustic equalisation: an innovative Bose technology that fine-tunes the frequency response of the headphones and allows you to enjoy exceptional audio performance.
    * Ergonomic design – experience the impact of your music, not the impact of your headphones. Enhanced comfortable fit and distinctive style plus exceptional audio performance in a lightweight headphone.
    * Adjustable headband and rotating cushioned earcups.
    * Personal and portable – exceptional sound for music on the go. Use the Bose® around-ear headphones with a wide variety of audio sources: portable CD players, DVD players, MP3 players, desktop computers, laptop computers and home stereo systems.
    * Drawstring carry bag: a convenient way to carry the Bose® around-ear headphones and accessories (1.5m extension cable and a 6.5mm adapter plug) wherever you go.

    Dimensions: 19H x 15W cm.
    Weight: 140g.
Warranty: A written one-year transferable warranty remains with the product even if ownership passes to another person.
    Colour: Silver and Glacier Blue.

  11. iPhone and Touch get hardware upgrade

As widely rumored, Apple last night announced capacity upgrades to the iPod Touch and iPhone product lines.

While the existing 8 and 16GB iPod Touch models remain available, a new larger capacity 32GB iPod Touch has been released, and sells for A$629. All iPod touch models now ship with the latest software announced last month at Macworld and include the ability to create Web Clips and come with Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather and Notes.

While still unavailable in Australia, Apple also extended the capacity of the iPhone introducing a new model with 16GB of memory for US$499. This upgrade is likely the last before the highly anticipated '3G' iPhone hits the market.

iPod Touch, now comes in 32GB for $629iPod Touch, now comes in 32GB for $629Market analysis firm Canalys also released a report giving the iPhone a twenty eight percent market share of the US smartphone market for the fourth calendar quarter, up more than 40% for the period ending in September. According to Canalys, that places Apple second only behind RIM in the US market, but well in front of Palm who only managed to snag nine percent.

While only managing fifth spot in the European market (behind Nokia, RIM, HTC and Motorola) Apple snagged third spot in the worldwide smartphone market with combined shipments of 2.32 million iPhones, but still trailing behind RIM and Nokia.

With the imminent release of the multi-touch SDK (due end of February) and Apple's promised deployment of the iPhone through more of Europe, Asia and Australia these numbers are likely to increase in the medium term as the 'multi-touch' platform extends Apple's reach in to the smartphone and media-player markets.
