I have one contract. Usually lasts 2 years. If wanting to try something new I sell the phone and use that money to buy a new one and so on and so on.

We usually joke with Gerard (germcevoy) that he changes phones more often than some people change underwear His phone switching rate is not that common, at least I don't know anyone else who has one new phone per month (approx.), here in Spain it's more like you say, changing once per year more or less.
  4. I change phones every two years. I'm happy to pay £250 for the phone and then have a very cheap contract with Three. But it depends, if the new Nexus 4 (or 5, which someone who I know works quite high up in the tech business says will be called a Nexus 5) is a superb upgrade, I'll buy it. It happened for me with the Nexus 7 - couldn't resist.

In terms of tablets, I own three. Two Nexus 7's (old and new) and an Archos 80 Cobalt, which is pretty hideous but I got it for £45 at the time.
  5. Indications are that the Nexus 5 should be slightly smaller than the 4. Likely plastic though and with the 4 priced as it is I think I'll stick with that.
  6. Three tablets, Kieran? Have you got them on the cheap on Tesco or what?
  7. Love the N7 so far!
  8. Stop making me want one.
  9. Hahaha, well its my first tablet What can I say...
  10. Ahh well that's not too bad. I still think I'll be Keen on trying the 7 though. I've had an iPad for 18 months now so change might not be a bad thing but I'm not overly keen on running 2 devices running the same OS.

  11. Funnily enough, for two of them, I have! The Archos 80 was supposed to be a Boxing Day deal at £50, but I realised on Christmas Eve while working that the deal had already been implemented. So I bought one, told everyone around working then there was a flurry of staff buying one. We had 45 at the start of the day and ended with at least 15. As a department, we decided it would be funny to sell them all before the day actually begins.

I bought the old Nexus 7 from Tesco but for the full price as I didn't have a staff discount card at the time. The new one I got for £149 because of staff discount, a £20 coupon that was online, and vouchers that I had remaining.

I think I've done pretty well

Glad you're enjoying the Nexus, Chris! It's a fantastic device.
