1. I ditched my iPad before it came out but a hit on battery life seems to be a common concert. Hopefully Apple optimise it in future updates.
  2. I haven't noticed a drop in performance myself, but I have read that there is a problem with some people on Twitter. One way I've seen suggested to combat this is to turn off 'Background App Refresh' in the general settings. Not sure how much use that would be but it could be worth trying.
  3. Thinking about a Chromebook again.
  4. Nexus 7 rooted. Why?, you ask, because you can And system wide ad blocker is nice

  5. Just for the sake of doing it? A full ad blocker is great. Does it include all browsers, games, etc you install or just the stock ones?
  6. System wide, it just makes it look like the ad-serving servers are down
  7. Aha. I guess all ads must have a similar code so the blocker knows which thing is an ad and what's not? Nice
  8. No, there are just lists of website addresses that are blocked. These lists are updated periodically.
  9. So far noteeing a need to root. Only ever did it before on phones to get rid of network bloatware.
  10. I think my main A/V receiver is on its way out. I can replace it fairly easily, but what if it doesn't sound exactly the same? This amp + these EQ settings + these headphones = The world's best audio. No questions asked. And no, I can't replace like for like. This amp is from 1991. Bought by my dad and I believe the first album it played was the freshly released Achtung Baby.

    Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised...
  11. The headphones aren't changing so that should be grand. Possible to match the EQ through trial and error?
