    You probably will if you want to run big games. Although you could probably put some stuff on something connected through USB 3.0.

    A 128gb SSD is under £50 at the minute so I may as well just upgrade it at the same time as the RAM. It should be a quite powerful little machine.

  4. I just yesterday filled my 200 GB HDD with bootlegs. I need an upgrade, any good ideas for an external HDD or thumb drive, anywhere from 300 GB to 2 TB?

  6. I wouldn't go for anything less than 1TB. I currently have a 500GB Seagate portable hard drive which has run daily without any issues for the past six years. I also have a 2TB Western Digital desktop drive (requires power) which I use for backing up my media collection. I've not had a single issue with either drive over the years that I've had them.

    Decide what you want to store on the drive and then decide how portable you want it to be. Generally speaking, a 2.5" portable hard drive will be powered by USB, making it easy to move around. A 3.5" external drive will require another power source in order to operate, making it less portable.

    Portable would be nice, but I am clean out of space, which is the main problem. Dealing with aspects like a power source is a pain (I've tried) so I think a 2.5" HDD would be best for me. I'll look around. Thanks Tim
  8. iPhone experiment over. I lasted longer than I thought but it was obvious early on that it wasn't going to last. iOS 9 is buggy and it doesn't really multi-task. I've sold it onto a mate while it's still in good condition and I've ordered an LG G4. I haven't used a non stock Android device since the HTC Hero so I'm a little wary but I should get it how I like it with launchers or custom ROMS if needs be.
  9. Toshiba Canvio Connect II 2 TB. USB 3.0. Powered by the PC not the wall outlet. Comes in white, silver, black, red or blue.

    Don't buy Seagate or Western Digital externals. Quality has gone down over the years.

    The technology thread wasn't the same without you swapping phones every few weeks. Thank God it's back to normal now.
