1. We all have our preference I suppose. I was iOS for two years(2010-2012); liked it at the time, but trying to switch back to it last year drove me halfway to insanity.
  2. Phone is plenty snappy. There is a screen blemish though. A bit of a shadow at the top. Only noticeable at times. It was a gumtree purchase (sealed in box for only £200 for 32gb) so I'm not complaining. I might try a manufacturers warranty claim in a month or 2.
  3. Looking to buy a tablet for the missus. Size around 10", will be used only for web surfing, social media, watching Netflix, Hulu. I may use it too to write my lecture notes on it, but that's not a deal-breaker.
Any thoughts or recommendations? Windows Surface, Ipad Air 2 or Samsung Galaxy Tab?

I personally favor Android, so I'd say Samsung Galaxy. Apple products are much more restricted but probably would work fine for the purpose
  5. A Samsung tablet with an AMOLED screen! Best way to watch a movie
  6. I've been looking at the Samsung tablet specs, reviews, etc. they seem much more flexible and open than ipads. Plus, I can always increase the memory with an SD card. I may go for it. Thanks to you both!
  7. Chinese are (much) cheaper and more versatile. You can have 5 Chuwi's for the price of one Samsung tab Phones and tablets get obsolete and outdated in a few months nowadays so buying cheaper ones is a better way of making the most of the expense.

Yes, but I'm not obsessed with technology. If something works fine, I don't need to replace it 6 months later just to be trendy.
I still read my books from my long discontinued Kindle DX from 2009.
I don't know about Chinese tablets. There's the stigma that they are of poor quality, without warranty and customer support.
  9. If you're not a tech snob then you'll be fine with whatever is decent enough to last and fulfills your expectations
  10. Let's just say I'm definitely not this guy
  11. Currently on with LG to see if I can sort a warranty repair even though I'm not the original purchased. Hopefully they come good.
