    There's an app callled Remote that let's you control your iTunes from anywhere in the house via the iPod and Wi-Fi. So, so cool.

    What budget?

    Sennheiser CX series are great valuable and brilliant little in-ear buds.

    Google them for a bargain (Amazon very cheap last time I looked). A lot of us here have them.
