1. Hey guys. I live in Canada so I use the NTSC video system. Now, I've downloaded some dvd's off U2 torrents, the pro-shot ones and some audience shot, but there are a lot of pro-shots that I can't seem to find in NTSC, and they're only in PAL. Is there a program any of you use to convert it? I know my dad told me I can just burn them in PAL, and bring them to a place near my house and get them converted, but for a price
So does anyone have a program that can do it? And can you give me the name if you do?

    Over and out,
    Alex

Check your other topic there, I answered.
  3. Drew tried to help me out with this a couple months ago, but we couldn't figure it out. Here it goes again:

I've got an iMac, and whenever I post in the forums here on U2start, the page freezes halfway through loading after I click the "Post a reply to this topic" button. My post goes through, but in order to see any pages on U2start, I have to quit Firefox and restart it. Quite annoying. Any ideas?

update to Firefox 3? It's been released since you last posted.
  5. Weren't there a bunch of bugs in Firefox 3? If not, I'll DL it now.

EDIT: Actually, I don't think it's Firefox. I just posted this reply in Safari, and the same thing happened. I see the header at the top of the page, but nothing below that loads, and the progress bar at the bottom of the screen stops @ halfway.

    no bugs in my Safari
  7. Safari on the iTouch / iPhone and iMac are two very different things.

Firefox 3 works beautifully. Jeremy, can you do something like a System Restore or backtrack on your iMac?

I'm a little afraid to do that, since this is the iMac I got from my old work, and I'm not sure if doing any sort of restore will make me lose stuff that I can't get back (since I don't have the hard copies of the software). Plus, I've had this problem ever since I started using this iMac back in December or so. I think it's got to be something about the site that the Mac's settings don't like.
  9. Good point. I'll try a few things:

    1. Open Safari > Preferences > Security > Enable Java / JavaScript > OK > Reload.

    2. In Preferences (for Mac), click Network and check everything is fine.

    3. Failing that, create a new user account and see if that fixes the issue.

I'm not holding my breath though. I have a feeling it's something too, that is conflicting because you said you gave both Firefox and Safari a go, and yet none of them work properly. If it doesn't work, call up the knobs at Apple and see what they can do - maybe nothing, or they know what the problem is.

Try a different browser if all else fails:

    http://www.icab.de/
    http://browser.netscape.com/
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
    http://shiira.jp/en.php
    http://www.opera.com/
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/

Another thing could be that the iMac has issues with Gecko. Gecko essentially is the web backend, or application programming interface (API) to Firefox and Safari, so if you can find an option in the Preferences relating to this, changing a setting or two could just kick it back into sxith gear.

In Firefox, also, try typing about:config, but be careful! There could be something conflicting there.
  10. Hey guys! I need to ask you something. I want to have T-mobile's home phone service. However, I was wondering if I will need to purchase the router on the website, if I already own a router. I tried calling the customer service line, but I couldn't get a clear answer from anyone. So, I figured, why not try here? If you need to know, my desktop is running Windows Vista Home Basic, and my laptop is running XP. I'm not sure if its SP1, or SP2.

    Thanks!
