1. I've tried search but it isn't working for me. I know people have posted things like this before so if guys can find links for me that would be great.

I've got a mate who likes U2 but only really knows the obvious stuff. He also only thinks 'they're ok'. Obviously his opinion needs updating!
I'm going to do a CD with some less obvious tracks on to convince him. I'm going to stick to studio stuff for now.

    I'm thinking:-

    Acrobat
    So Cruel
    A Sort of Homecoming
    Bad
    The Electric Co.
    Please
    Running to Stand Still
    Gone
    MoFo
    Mercy
    Are You Gonna Wait Forever?
    October
    Love is Blindness

I reckon I've got maybe 16-18 songs on a CD depending on length. I'm avoiding Bomb tracks as he has that album.

Anyone any suggestions or links? Are my choices rubbish? Anything much appreciated
  2. Some great choices there. And Love Is Blindness, what a track to finish off with. He's gotta like that.

Give him a copy of POP and see what he says then. If it was a "less obvious" set then I'd have to chuck in Womanfish. The humor factor.

Thanks. I might put a couple more from Pop on - I've still a few spaces there. I'll rejig the order too but LIB is definitely my closer.

You often mention Womanfish - I know it's a JT era song but nothing else. Do I have a copy of it? (was it on unreleased and rare, or has it been posted here as a JT outtake? Cos I have these)

  4. I was going through each album writing you the good non obvious stuff, but it became a looong list...so I'm just gonna give a few names which are from my favorites and are missing from your list:

Promenade, Indian Summer Sky, Exit, Mothers of The Disappeared, Like A Song, Drowning Man, Tomorrow, etc. (it started getting long again ...I'm gonna stop now!)

Ow and Pop's got a lot of good stuff, Discotheque, Staring At The Sun, IGWSHA, DYFL, LNOE, Wake Up Dead Man (would go good between October and LIB in your list!), etc.

Don't think I helped that much ...all track are great!!!

  5. Ultraviolet is a must Dan and i'd second Ali with Exit.
  6. Womanfish was performed just the once.

TV Ga-Ga on 1986-01-30 with Trip Through Your Wires
