    Actually I really didnt like Ultraviolet that much until I heard the 360 versions. Until then I thought it was a pretty average song, both live and in the studio...

    Though I do agree I was actually talking about UV-Acrobat-LIB on Achtung Baby.

    Almost exactly the same for me. I was on a trip around Great Britain in the first 2 weeks of July and was only able to read a small review of the opening night in The Independent which gave it 4/5 and I didn't really know what the whole thing looked like until I came home. I watched Ultra Violet from the first Milan night on YouTube and was completely blown away.

    I've been listening to and comparing Zoo and 360 for a little while now and I have to say 360 is the clear front runner now. A lot more passion.
    Don't get me wrong Zoo is still gold but Bono sings UV with a lot more passion and meaning this time around.

    Actually, ZooTV and 360 Ultraviolets are very different, imo, and I couldn't say which one is better than the other. Maybe, in 1992-1993, it was technically better, deeper and with Bono's voice on top shape. But 2009's Ultraviolet thrills me. Especially because Bono sings "Ultraviooooleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet", which he didn't do on ZooTV that much.

    He sings the Ultravioleeet part terribly now, he's always out of breath due to his stage antics and he can't sing it through.

    Ruins the chorus completely. Compare that to his falsetto vocalisations in ZooTV, no competition.

    I think the best thing about the 360 renditions is the new solo (which suits the song much better) , I also don't mind the way Bono shouts out the 2nd worse, though it isnt really in keeping with the song's spirit

    Also the chorus riff sounds way better on the ZooTV performances for some reason (also it isn't repeated at the end on 360 with the 'baby,baby baby's', which is a downgrade)
  8. The way he sings the 'Ultravioleeeet' part has changed. Compare the versions from the European part of the 360° Tour and those from the American leg - here in Europe he'd belt it out with as much power as he could, in America he sang it in a more melodic way.
  9. Awesome song. Great guitar work, great lyrics, great vocals, great bass, great drums, just great, basically. Justice done in both eras. So glad we were given the chance to see it return.

  10. the 360 versions seem to be more 'raw', and i like how bono adds that "and the price isnt right, if the price is cheap" line in after the "i guess thats the price of love".
    tough pick between 360 and Zoo though.

    It is an epic song, both lyrically and musically brilliant. Was one of 2 songs I hoped they'd bring back to 360 tour. I got both
