1. Got my super delux edition yesterday but the dvd wont play. when i put it in the dvd recorder and try to play it, it says "warning: incompatible tv system setting!".
I have a panasonic dvd recorder and sony bravia LVD. other dvds play just fine its just this one that doesnt work.
I have tried it on my mothers plasma and it works fine there.
  2. Probably has to do with your DVD-player, I think.
  3. but it strange because other dvds play just fine. not sure which settings could be wrong?

It is strange, but as you said, the Paris DVD worked on your mom's plasma, so the DVD isn't damaged or something.
  5. First thoughts to that would be that the DVD is encoded in NTSC for the United States and your DVD player needs to support that in order to show anything NTSC. New Zealand uses PAL. You can change it in your DVD player settings, I think, but most sold in the last few years (after 2003) support NTSC/PAL transitions.

Doing a search for the message (I think we're using a Panasonic too) threw up a few results.

  6. Thanks for your help. I have changed the settings from PAL- NTSC and it plays now. i would have thought it would do this automatically though, its a new DVD recorder too.
By the way, unforgettable fire playing now, awesome!!
  7. Awesome to hear. I'm not sure whether you'd have to swap back and forth from PAL > NTSC.

Yes, I think they'd established this already.
