1. Australians! My grand mother asked me to look something up, and I need your help with that.

Story: my grand mother lived in the Hague in the fifties, below her lived a family, the "SLIJKERMAN" family. They moved to Australia however in 1956 by ship. My grand mother asked me to look up if I can find a way to contact them or find out where they live nowadays.

What kind of online options do I have to find something out? Only thing I know is that the family shipped to Canberra in 1956 with the JOHAN VAN OLDEBARNEVELT ship. Family members are Joop, Ria, Mimi, Meri and Adri Slijkerman. Oldest two might not even be alive anymore, they were born in 1921 and 1923. Children were born in 1945, 47 and 52 so they should be alive.

    Thanks in advance!
  2. Sounds like an 'Spoorloos' item..Hope the Aussies can help you!

Canberra is not in the Australian Capital Territory?
  5. Hey Remy

Victoria is the state I live in, Melbourne is the Capital. I live approx 30 kms from Melbourne.
Melbourne to Canberra by road is approx 650kms. Canberra is the Capital of the ACT.

"Australia is roughly the size of continental USA but with a population of greater Los Angeles with most of that population located on the eastern sea board. So be prepared for long distances across open country with little population in-between"
