I'm not sure about enabling javascript on mac, maybe Nate, Drew or Dan could help you out here. I don't know if FireFox is available for mac, but if in any case you're using it, you have to go from the menu on top of the page: Tools - Options... - Content (it's a tab that you have to click on) - then just check "Enable Javascript".
If you're using Safari it shouldn't be much different, enabling can be done somewhere in the browser's options.

And the files that Gerard has uploaded include both "A Day in the life of the Edge" and the superdome show.

By the way, now that you're here, why don't you post a new topic here: http://www.u2start.com/topics/13/ and tell us about yourself?

Yes, firefox is available for mac. That's what I use. Never really had this problem though...sorry.

Problem is I clicked on the rapidshare link and it said I had to enable javascript. Now, I'm a total computer/boot n00b and have no idea how to do that. I have a mac. Anyone wanna offer me a leg up?

Also, did you upload a day in the life of Edge?

    Thanks!

    Welcome

If you're using Safari then click on "Safari", go down to "preferences...", click on that. Then go to the Security section and there's a tick-box for enabling Javascript.

    Should do it.

You'll also need Stuffit Expander (Google it) to make use of the file you'll download from Rapidshare.

Good luck with it - hop back on here (in The Technology Topic is best) if you're still struggling.

And please say hello as Ali suggests
  3. RapidShare and MegaUpload for the code confirmation and countdown and file downloads rely on JavaScript. Firefox is indeed available for Mac. And if it shows Java and JavaScript they're two different things - Java is for programs like BitTorrent, JavaScript is used for web page scripting.

Well done to showing how it is done. If anyone else wants to try Firefox go to www.getfirefox.com. Also there's a plugin which allows you to do several downloads from RapidShare and MegaUpload at once - I can't remember it's name though, but it's free and works well enough.
  4. Just paid a visit to u2unes.com and look what's up:

    2002-02-03 New Orleans

I meant to share this iPod video and the companion audio files yesterday, considering it was the six-year anniversary of U2's performance. I think the single best review of this performance was summed up in this very brief statement:

A stunning and brilliant idea . . . the way the names keep going and going and going . . . and then it drops. Terrible and beautiful and I wondered, "how could I have forgotten this?"

You need uTorrent or a torrent app for this, and here's the link:

I tried 2 shows just as a trial and the sound is terrible. I did Dublin 93 and the sound is fucking brutal yet when played on my TV the sound is crystal. Hmmm gonna have to fiddle about a bit

Which version of Dublin '93 do you have? I've got some horrible version with supposedly a soundboard mix, but it sounds like a really bad audience - which has both the 27th and 28th on one DVD and it's hard to say which is worse. Go for Elevation Austin (if you've still got it), or one of the Lovetown shows.

i'm using the proper 2 cam mix with broadcast audio. It sounds fantastic on my TV but when I run the conversion the resulting sound it shit. It was the same with East Rutherford 2001. Whenever I run a pro-shot though it sounds fine. I'll have to muck around with some settings
