What hell would he think be relevant then?? That person "yeah" is a very very demanding person.
    More irritating than an insect.

nah.... I respect anyone who enjoys Last Night On Earth as much as I do.

The only person to be redeemed annoying would be u2retrobuff!

He probably means that he didn't like the last two albums. I feel the same way: they're just straight-up rock records that tend a lot to pop, without any experimentation or anything daring at all. Now most of you like that, but I prefer records with lots of experimentation. You should always try to make something that has never been done before, or at least something that you as a band have never done before and that doesn't look too much like your previous album.

i agree with you, yet U2 was not trying to reinvent anything on the last two records, which they're aloud to do and just be a band. However, I think they, as well as us, are ready to get back onto that path of finding something new and perhaps go for another actual reinvention. goddammit i can't wait, everytime I see this topic further up on the active topics list my heart starts to skip a beat

Thanks for your kind words, Patsy.

RDB82 nearly understood what I meant. I don't expect anything groundbreaking from every new album but the last 2 albums just don't do it for me. They are solid Pop albums but nothing special. The lyrics were cheesy and weak, the music some kind of safety concept. And that's why they're not relevant to me. I just think U2 are over the top. That's okay because they are still playing solid music, but I don't get excited about a new album anymore.

Although there's still hope in me

  6. And what's wrong with stating a preference anyway?

YEAH, shut the fuck up.. You're more irritating than an insect!!!
  8. By the way, I partially agree on that. Last two albums were not top-notch nor experimental, I know. But... Hey, we can't expect a White Album every album...
  9. Ah well, War and October weren't that groundbreaking either compared to Boy. After Pop, U2 needed some new ground and they made ATYCLB. Some loved it, others didn't...HTDAAB wasn't great, just decent. So it's time for some new stuff. And I think it will come..
  10. what I don't always get is... why do some people want them to be so 'experimental'?
define experimental first of all what exactly do you guys expect? achtung baby 2? wouldn't be experimental nor new, cos they've been there.

but most importantly (imo) I think u2 found their sound by now, I'd be somewhat disappointed if they threw that away and went totally gaga with something new that's not them.

    Like Bono on the piano?
  12. I'll be glad if he's not on guitar (though he did alright on The Fly on Vertigo). I'd love to see a return to the harmonica, though like Desire, or even flute.
