  2. the latest video from U2.com with Adam chatting to fans outside the studio isn't working on either my computers. is anyone else having trouble with it? i'm guessing and hoping it's a problem with U2.com and I hope they fix it! sorry if this is in the wrong topic

    You mean the one with the ...And on Bass Guitar...? Works fine with me. You're not missing much however. Only goes for about a minute. Are you a member?

    yeah i'm a member and i got it to work .....i want more than a 51 sec video dammit for 40 dollars!

    lol i know. wonder if that's a new song he's jamming to, I suspect so but maybe not. whatever it was, there was some fancy finger work going on. "chatting with fans" was quite the overstatement

For those with a decent knowledge of sound: Hopefully it doesn't end up too "sonically-produced" like much of the stuff recently released or recorded overly loud - meaning that it distorts and hisses badly intentionally which many wouldn't notice but some people do pick it up. I'd be guessing someone like yeah would have an idea of what I'm talking about.

    I wouldn't mind a concept album, to be honest. U2 haven't really made one yet, but I'd like to see what their take is on that sort of idea. From that video with whoever it is sitting at the mixing desk, I think they were using GarageBand or ProTools.
  8. this is such a fun thread...can't wait for this record, the name, vibe, single, look, feel...all of it, very exciting (oh yeah...and the TOUR!)

    i personally don't think we're gonna get some big new experimental sound. i do think we'll get some great songs with some experimentation involved, but i just don't see/hear it being as ground breaking as AB or Pop...and not because the band is lazy, but because in the last 10-20 years a lot has been done, so it's near impossible to pull out some never-before-heard sound/genre. technology has made experimentation readily available even to the novice musician these days.

    Personally, i'd have no problem at all with another album along the lines of ATYCLB and Bomb. Hell, they could even strip it down further if you asked me...all about the songs in my eyes, regardless of the production and innovation in the studio, the true test is if Bono/Edge can play/sing it on an acoustic guitar and it still sores. I believe it will...
