if the album is finished, why not release it in October how they said before? if everything is done about it, the sooner it comes out the better for us....can't wait

Yep, IF the album is finished...

If you have a closer look on all this, we know nothing. The only thing that's save is that there'll be a new U2 album.
All the yadda yadda around is either gossip, guesses or rumours.

audio clips, research, and other statements from various people associated with the band and album dont count then i guess...

a real positive outlook on this album, wouldnt ya say?

i kind of agree with you, but ALL music comes on Tuesdays so it could be legit? i don't know, I really hope someone is screwing with us though
  4. one more thing, before Bomb came out, Vertigo's site was the first to be registered (I believe) THEN HTDAAB was registered. Are they doing a similar first single first then album title again? granted it could all be the same if No Line is the title track. we'll see

The audio clips are nearly inaudible noise - also, what tells you that these contain definite tracks and not just jammings, demos, etc.?
    What research?
Where did anyone associated with the band say anything concrete about the album?

NEW ALBUM: NO LINE ON THE HORIZON?
    July 22, 2008

Hans at U2tour.de tips us to the fact that Universal Music has registered the domain, nolineonthehorizon.com, which you may recognize as one of the songs believed to be on the new album. Is it the name of the first single? Is it the name of the album?

For what it's worth, the domain was purchased on June 27 -- that's the weekend U2 reportedly finished recording the album, according to several media and fan reports.

In the past, however, U2 registered their own album-related domain names or had DigiCC, Sebastian Clayton's company, purchase the domains for them.

I can hear lyrics..... on the NLOTH recording, which was confirmed to be a song on the next album through various news releases.

yes, there could be demos, jamming, and so on
but to say that we know absolutely nothing about this new album,
I've collected various news clippings and such, so here ya go

And this little bit right here:

....about 45 minutes after my arrival at Hanover Quay, Bono opens the door and waves to me, I get to the door and start chatting with him.
I congrat him for his birthday, talk about what I'm doing in Dublin, how long I have been here and that in a few weeks I go back definetely to Spain, etc... (he keeps remembering me as the Spanish bullfighter, hahahaaa) eventually he asks me if I have ever visited the studio interior....I want to die..., of course I said no and he invites me to come in....10 glorious minutes inside, he shows me the room they use to rehearsal and then he takes me to the recording and mixing room where Steve Lillywhite is and seconds later Lanois makes his appearance. Steve asks Bono if he wants to listen to anything, he nods, I can't believe it.

Bono tells me that what is going to sound is PSYCHEDELIC POP.... the song starts....I have to say it's something new, different from HTDAAB, it has a very hard rock sound and a very strong bass line, just at the end Morrocan influences can be felt.... the song is quite long, but awesome (I didn't ask the title).

Steve is crazy with a strange dance during the song , Bono, by his side, is also enjoying, dancing timidly and listening very carefully (both Steve and Bono kept looking at me and my reaction, but I was icefrozen, in coma, dreaming, trying to realise where I was and who I was with...)
While in the middle of the song Adam appears with a coffee in his hand, he says hello and stands by me.
When the song ends Bono asks me how I like it, everybody looking at me, I say: "strong! fresh! amazing! I have no words!", they all laugh..."

No line... is rumoured to be a song on the new release. Where was it confirmed by someone "official".

What you quoted is a report by a fan transported and translated through 2 different websites. Could be true, could be made up.

There are some things that are pretty likely, I agree on that. But there's nothing confirmed yet, that's all I'm saying.

I remember reading a report similar to that by an American reporter who was listening to an early demo in the car with Bono and Edge on the way to some festival recently. With that in mind, I'm fairly sure it sounds like NLOTH is the song that the band feel is the one that they feel is the most promising from their endeavours, much like ISHFWILF was during the JT days - if someone came in to check things out, they'd perform or play that to them. I have a feeling NLOTH sounds like something similar.

Would be darkly amusing if it doesn't make it onto the final cut lol... and irritating, because I really like the sound of it...the heavy guitar work, killer drums etc...plus the cool name!

if i remember, Bono said it describes a specific time when the sky and sea are one. is this one of the time related things they were talking about? not numbers, but times of day? unless it was numbers.....
