That's just Photoshopping indeed, and not even done that good. Like the idea though.

right, i'm just saying the inspiration may have a literal starting point but i doubt we'll be listening to a song about when the sky and sea are one, despite the gorgeous imagery of that. i'm sure it will be related to something far more personal and spiritual

an eye-gasm when Bono's watching it?

I agree with you, but still...you can't have cold atmosphere in a video shot in Spain.

I hope you're right, most of their albums have been like that. Sometimes when I listen to Bomb, it seems like it's missing what you're referring to there, not all of the songs, but some of them. So I hope we get that feel from the new album. I'm sure we will, we're talking about U2 for god's sake!

we'll see, i like the premise of the video, at least the sketchy details we have. although No Line i suppose can be safely named as the first single?

Yea. I mean, if you listen to U2's stuff before Pop, it had so much more meaning then their last couple of records. Maybe ATYCLB was an exception. Pop was more less an experiment IMO, and Bomb was just, Bomb. I dunno. It wasn't as special or as significant as their older albums, but that's not to say it didn't have good music. COBL to me is one of my favourite songs by them, I think it's amazing. That one might be one of the exceptions I was talking about off of that album. I love that song. But yea, I really do hope this next album will have that U2 feel to it.

Bomb is a great fucking record with incredible strength IMO thus making it a viable candidate for best album. However, the past 2 records are clearly U2 sticking to what they do best: write great fucking songs. I think U2 enjoyed that period but after Bomb felt they had to actually chase something new, and I hope the new album will be the result of that ambition. Bono said to either Jo Whiley or Q that whatever they were doing had to change. The last two albums specifically weren't trying to reinvent the wheel, so people complaining about that as a weak point can kind of shut up because that isn't the point. Who knows if the next album will be as stark a contrast as Achtung Baby was, but this will be a make or break album I think for the band, it has to be great if they are to remain relevant, especially at this point in their career

ATYCLB = Reapplying for best band in the world, doing what they do best. Check

HTDAAB = A rock 'n' roll record. Again doing what they do best. Somewhat of a look back on their early days with heavier sound.

New Album (presumably No Line On the Horizon) = Their next album that takes a left turn, into the uncharted territory. U2 will shock their fans once more. What's in bold (that I made bold btw) is exactly what my thoughts have been.
