1. First off, ny nickname will be MacPhisto's Fly, or any mix if ya want. I feel stj0691 is getting a bit old now. My fav album is Achtung Baby, as you may have guessed by now. ZOO TV, the only thing that keeps me going, my affection.

Ok, I think I have dug up a hypocracy to all the hype:
    U2 always has sounded hand-played (I think)
So does the drumming from Hendrix's material. Which has been listened to. Hand played, to me, is defined as the music giving you the feel of the power behind the music.
Electro music? In Wiki they say this:
the definition of the electro sound is the use of drum machines as the rhythmic base of a track
But it also sounds hand played? Stop the music for a sec.
So the rhythm sounds machine like, set to something, but the drums (half the rhythm) also hand played. Contradiction in sight? Nope.

So someone did say what Bono says is a joke, ya could be right on there kiddo.

Zoo Station, my favorite station, oh. Think of that for the coming months. The new album sounds so electro to me, like my album. I see a return to my favorite station, with lighter sounds. It is electro, and it does sound hand driven. Wasn't my love (Zoo TV) the sound of chopping down a tree? The tree hasn't withered in the sand though. The tree that has blocked the shade from my album and has given this innovation new shed light, new direction, new hope. The tree however reminds us all what we're from. The roots go further. I see this album as a celebration of old and new. A tribute to our past and present. A mix of the the tree's roots and the static waves from ten to fifteen years ago. After all, U2's past two works were root based, right I am. But enough about the roots and TV and dance, I must get some rest. As for the new album, more jabber tomorrow. I hear Daft Punk in the back, hmm.

    G'night y'all.
  2. the combination of hand played electro does definitely sound interesting! I'm sure the boys will pull it off like it's never been done before! If Lanois says they are breaking sonic ground, I believe him

They must be since they keep saying it's new sound. More happier tone Zoo TV news should be coming up soon.
  4. From Edge to the press last night :

'I just want to clear up the fact that I described the album as 'Dense' and NOT Dance'

Haven't we heard this before? Sounds very familiar. I believe it was in reference to Pop, and I think Bono said it

Instead of chopping it down...or let's say, U2 will launch their atomic bomb, the one they couldn't dismantle
