me too....I'm hoping the album comes out in October, and we see a single in September (hoping the single could win song of the year)

that sounds like the most realistic thing, but what the hell is up with rumours of a january release? i havent indulged these rumours with enough respect to read up on them. did you?
  2. This worse then waiting for Christmas LOL.
  3. I hope the lack of official news lately doesn't mean a delay.
I'm expecting a single this time next month. Is that too much to ask?

A bit too much to ask. With a mid-November release, judging by past history... expect there to be a single around the 3rd to 4th week of October. History being that singles usually preceed the album by 2-4 weeks.

    Examples?:
    Pride - Sep 1984 / The Unforgettable Fire - October 1 & 2
    With Or Without You - Mar 2 & 3 / The Joshua Tree - Mar 9 & 10
    Desire - Sept 1988 / Rattle And Hum - Oct 10 & 11
    The Fly - Oct 21 & 22 / Achtung Baby - Nov 18 & 19
    Numb - Jun 1993 / Zooropa - July 5 & 6
    Discotheque - Feb 3 &7 / Pop - Mar 3 & 4
    Beautiful Day - Oct 9 & 10 / ATYCLB - Oct 30 & 31
    Vertigo - Nov 8 / HTDAAB - Nov 22 & 23
  6. I guess the releasing structure will have some similarities with Achtung Baby...

Those are the release dates of the actual physical single CD, right? I remember hearing Vertigo in radio play in late September/early October of '04.

I wonder too if the lack of "official" news as of yet is more to do with planning not so much the release of the actual music itself, but HOW the music will be released. (RED) is supposed to be launching that new music service this fall which might coincide with U2's release. It might be possible they're still brewing up, or perfecting, that "digital coefficient," or whatever it was Paul McGuiness called it.
