    Might be just some window-dressing too, you're right about that. On the other hand, if they really started recording without a sort of scheme/plan, I like it. Just start and see where it ends.

    Bono actually stated that was pretty much the reason for the delay for Atomic Bomb.....this to me sounds like they just want to keep working, rather than essentially start over......i remember reading something on @U2 about Bono throwing some demo tapes in the trash can because he was so pissed.....he sounds elated to me

    I don't mean that they're planning to start from scratch. They certainly rework some songs (with the 4th producer now) but I'm sure most are done by now - imho the main obstacle might be to have another album and not just a collection of songs. That would also go along with Edge in the Q interview...

    but hopefully will be for the best, and hopefully will mean they'll still be touring Europe in Summer 09

  9. An album is definitely needed. The last 2 just havent listened all that great, not neccessarily due to bad music but the songs just havent blended. Im welcoming this 'delay'
  10. wow, now that they actually said they want it to have an effect like from jt to ab.. I'm REALLY curious (and expectant, this better be awesome).

  12. That statement might get back as a boomerang to Bono. Even for the King of hype, he said some heavy stuff there. Anything less than the most radical, most innovative, most challenging and best ever album will be a disappointment. To announce a change à la JT-> AB doesn't put the pressure from the band either.


    On another note: How about splitting the topics?
    This topic could be kept for all the speculation and discussion we already do.

    Another one could have the things we "know" from several sources (mentioned tracknames, producers, U2.com vids, beach clips, Edge in Q, McG about Artwork, Bono on U2.com, etc...). That topic stays closed and new information is be added by the crew when it turns up. That would be some kind of "summary" - all essentials in one place.
