Because that's my first association with that idea. To each their own, though.

Imagine if they released the ~100 songs they had for ATYCLB *shivers*

And all the rest in the outtakes thread. They wouldn't have to be samples or riffs, full 3-5 minute songs. Some might be decent.

Man would I love an outdoor U2 concert. That would be stellar.

  3. there's a problem with your post.

You want u2 to tour Europe in the summer

    I posted something

  4. think twice if you'll come to visit me in the summer 'coz U2 we'll be hanging around here

where? when? what the heck are you talking about?

I see no reason why it's controversial or a nightmare; it would tell a story. I hope they do something like it, rather than putting on live B-sides.

I think releasing an album or albums with a crapload of new songs would be a bad idea. They don't want people to have to try and grasp 60+ songs, they want to put out 11 memorable songs. And I'm sure even though they've said they've written 60+ songs doesn't mean they're all good. They talked about releasing a double album for the Joshua Tree, with all the songs, (B-sides and originals) but when the B-Sides came out a year ago, a lot of people thought they sucked. Not the hardcore fans like us, but people that like U2 the same way they like any other band.

And what's wrong with live b-sides? Spanish Eyes and Silver & Gold were good on the JT tour, and they were b-sides.

  6. I think he means recorded live tracks which are put on a single as a b-side, rather than b-sides which are played live.

Agreed. I'm in the camp that would love 60+ songs for this reason. I think it would be fascinating to track the progression (or regression) of their songs, especially since they seem to be so meticulous in the process. I'm such a sucker for them (unfortunately) that I actually would pay for a 4-CD set, regardless of its cost (well...within reason ).
  8. Dear Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam,

Please do not make a 4-hour cd.
I wouldn't be able to learn all the lyrics out of the top of my head before the tour reaches Rotterdam.

    Kind regards,

    Mark from Boxtel, The Netherlands

PS Could you guys come over here and play Electrical Storm and Acrobat at my school? Would love to see that!

Live B-sides (like Kite from Sydney 2006), not B-sides that were played live (Spanish Eyes), unless they are epic like Kite.

Again, not just snippets, but quality, full-length songs that can be played live, like Wave of Sorrow.

  11. I got something to the effect of 'updates are always available first on our news page' and that we don't deal directly with the band.

There is one thing wrong with that statement. Play the guessing game!

Edit: don't forget that Tammy will respond, like she does to all my emails. Is there only one worker on that site that knows how to use email?
