1. OT indeed....my fault .....not like there's anything to keep us on topic though

  2. Okay, since there's nothing really to discuss: we had a You Too a few months about which new song sounded most promising...What do you guys think now?

I said North Star back then cause it sounded (title-wise) like Vertigo, Elevation, The Fly, etc. (short title, great word to rhyme on)

Now I'm really looking forward to the 7-minute NLOTH, which is the new version of Mercy I think
  3. Was NLOTH one of the beach clips? The one with a guitar solo similar to Acrobat's at the end. ie Clip 1.
Because that is one great song in progress.

But it's only 4 mins, (but it starts in the middle of the song) so unless it's grown longer, it's probably Moment of Surrender or something. And is Mercy on the album even?

They said it would be, but probably re-worked (different lyrics, slight change of melody) a la Native Son/Vertigo

That's good, it could be better, more interesting towards the end.

I don't think it needs much re-working. I really love it. One of the best songs they've recorded in the last 10 years. I think it really would have strenghtened How To Dismantle...

The first part of the song is good, but I get bored at the 2nd part. A lot of Bono-yelling and it somehow looks like they didn't know where the song would lead to.

That's what I kind of like about it.

Yeah, I love it too, but it could be better looking at Bono's voice...if he nails it it can be the new BD

Supposedly Clip 1 is NLOTH, but I don't recall what that's even based on. When the clips first surfaced, i think some people thought they heard "no line on the horizon" in the lyrics somewhere.

I'm wondering if clip 1 is that new song that Edge mentioned in MOJO, "Unknown Caller." Both that song and the clip are from the Fez sessions, and some of the lyrics we've figured out go something like, "There's a number...you know the name...so shout it out."

    But who knows?

Did anyone see the new interview wtih Edge's mother? She syas the boys hope the album will be out in February: http://www.fingal-independent.ie/lifestyle/gwenda-more-than-just-a-famous-mother-1554189.html

In the picture they give of her, you can definitely see the resemblance in Edge.
  11. She's the coolest old lady ever!
  12. I was thinking the beach clip with the lyric that sounds like "You know the name, so call it out" was Moment of Surrender. From what I've heard of Breathe (think that was featured in a U2.com clip recently), I think it's going to rock live.
