Amazing. This is how news get made. It starts with a statement that compares the quality of the creative process on the latest album to the Beatles and ends with "an album sounding like WITS".

As a student of journalism I can just agree with you.

With regards to Will.I.Am producing on the album, perhaps it will be like Coldplays Lost+ with Jay-Z which wasn't bad ( I think Coldplay helped write his lyrics). At least Brian Eno has some experience with rap/hip hop anyway, perhaps its the connection.

From what we've heard so far I don't really feel that the album will be as 'fantastically innovative' as everyone is saying, the 'best U2 album ever' talk is worriesome, because it creates expectations that are going to be hard to live up to, U2 are not in their prime. I would prefer if they didn't talk up the album to this degree, and be pleasantly surprised by how good it is when it came out, rather than expecting to hear another AB and being dissappointed.

Funny you mention that, altough im not sure I would go that far as of yet
But out of all 4 clips I heard, the one that is suppose to be the "boots on" one
It was my least fave of them, I think a possible line from it was " get your boots strapped on"
  3. I give up....I'll assume there is no album coming and be totally surprised when it comes.
  4. I still think it's crazy to act like you know what you're talking about JUST from hearing the beach clips. fuck off. that's not the same as hearing them on the album....for all we know those songs may have changed a little or what. at best, it's crap quality, you can barely make anything out. they are enough to get (me at least) excited, but I don't tell myself or my friends "omg i just heard the new U2 record" no. give me a break and wait til the album is out to review it.

Who was that one aimed at? lol
  6. I know we're all itchin' for some official news, but please lets try and keep it civilized in here.

  7. that may have been harsh, but I just find that stuff unfounded and irritating sorry

While I agree with you that the Beach clips probably don't sound like their respective version on the finished album, I think you're a little over the top here.

If you take the clips as indicator to get excited, you should also accord to others to take them as indicator to stay reserved, imho.

    Peace.
