  3. Promote some excitement, who knows...

    Although that bit on U2Miracle about the conversation with Bono, along with their "Wait until the 17th" banner seems to point definitely to something within the next day or so, if not actually on the 17th. Optimistically, by the end of the week.

    Will it actually be covered FIRST on U2.com? Maybe that's the big story.

  9. I was thinking about how amazing it was Radiohead put out In Rainbows. No one had heard from them in months, and then all of a sudden, they announced on their website, "Hey, we have an album and we're releasing it online in 7 days, and you can pay whatever you want." I just remember freaking out because it was so unexpected and unbelievable. And that made me think about U2 having an announcement that could be just as big and just as amazing.

    This brings me to the subject of a Prince album, Around The World In A Day. It was released in 1985, and just turned up in record stores, without a hint of publicity - Prince had not spoken of it, Warner hadn't said a word about it, either and none of the fans knew it was coming. So what if the second rumoured album happens to be released in the same sort of style?

    Four songs from that album happened to chart pretty decently, and got decent reviews - unlike the crap he releases nowadays. Or it could be like Viva La Vida / Prospekt's March. Maybe Brian Eno has suggested that concept to U2, like the releases of Achtung Baby and Zooropa.
