I'd personally climb on stage and drag edge over to the piano

bono puts a lot into his singing, he should concentrate on that rather than divide his attention on two things, imo.

really? I doubt that though, sorry bono
I think somewhere in u2 by u2 bono says that he sometimes grabs the guitar, tries to play something hard (failing, of course), just so to provoke edge and get him to play something more rock-style... maybe the riff for UTEOTW was invented like that?

    here's the original quote - page 182, u2 by u2.

    bono:
I was frustrated trying to get a bit rock'n roll out of the edge, and the only way I could get him to do this was to pick up the guitar myself. it used to so annoy him to see me with a guitar that he would start playing. so I wrote it really quickly just to demonstrate how swiftly you could write a rock'n'roll song. I was saying, 'look edge, I'm not a guitar player, ok? I don't know all the chords, but just try this. a-minor to d. just like that.' he would say, 'it's not very good.' he's told me it was crap. now I'm going to have to make sure it's good!
what I really want him to do is come up with something better, I don't want to have to be depending on this. the lyric was really good, the tune is pretty good, and the hook is pretty average - thanks to the edge.

I think he was talking about 'in god's country'...

    The Edge:
    Bono: "What?"
    The Edge: " "

So he took his guitar and made it sound like he was shooting Bono with M4

I actually read it in "Into the Heart" that Bono came up with it......but i could be wrong!

Its a shame he cant play guitar properly as there are some songs which would sound much better live with two guitars like they appear on the album....i cant think of any now but there are a few!
