According 2 them, Daniel Lanois recently made this interview with a french-canadian magazine called "Voir"
And revealed a new song title on the new album
He said that U2´s album is practically done, and he feels really satisfied with the work
Especially the bass guitar makes him proud
As many times before he repeates that, this is goin 2 be one of U2´s most magnificent albums
He continues to tell more about a certain track.
"Jimi Hendrix" visits me from time to time.
I´ve taken that influence to the studio and it inspired me to try a whole new concept.
It probably shows on one of the tracks called "The Cedars of Lebanon."

I think it might be a political song..... the Cedar of Lebanon is on the Lebanese flag, and well, Cedars might mean people in this case.

  2. i'm not jeen on the Lebanon song title. Reminds me of Wave Of Sorrow. I think U2's political song writing days have long since passed. I'd like them to stray away from whats appening over there (assuming it's a politically based song that is)

True, but if you really think about it, its another SBS. Cedars of Lebanon could mean people of Lebanon, with the thousands of people protesting and wanting Syria out. To me this is like Great Britain and how they were in North Ireland. But that gets me sick. Like Bono said, "fuck the revolution". Nobody should have to die to be free. Nobody should suffer to be free. Just have a listen to Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind".
  4. Or it's just a song about the beauty of the Lebanese cedars. Why should it be political?
  5. After hearing B 's voice at the 46664-concert....I just need to say one thing: I CAN'T WAIT FOR OCTOBER/NOVEMBER!!!!

  10. Good point..... perhaps a blend? I don't know, but I know one thing about this song. Its about being strong in a tough situation. These trees are seen as very stirdy trees, kind of like our view of an Oak tree.

Maybe..... maybe its political and religious. Being strong in a tough situation.... something the people of Lebanon face every day with all the problems going on.
