    yeah we do need to be a little realistic and know that we can't predict anything, but just judging from the seemingly smooth and organic recording process, the words of Eno and Lanois, particularly Lanois talking about "breaking sonic ground", is very exciting. Bono also hasn't been seen as much, like he was during the Bomb sessions, so the whole band really seem to be very dedicated to this album, and the fact that Bono has kept his pre-album hyperbole to a minimum is kind of exciting too, he's like; i'm not even gonna hype it, it will speak for itself.

    my mind takes off sometimes haha

    Makes the waiting time until November even longer than it already is... I'm in one of my 'U2-Adoration-Moments', everything I hear of them gives me goosebumps. Man, I just can't wait...

    I'm on the exact same page as you, except i've been saying this since 2003.

    I remember my exact words

    "The album after the next one, will best thing they ever do".

    I swear i said it then, and it sticks now.

    yeah i get you. i was also saying it though before Atomic Bomb and about Atomic Bomb, and I think to an extent I was right, it is a record that is very full on and just so tight and has many qualifiers to make it the "best", but Atomic Bomb wasn't transcendent but I don't think that was the whole idea. I have a feeling transcendence will be the order of the day with this new album and tour. god, can't wait to hear this tour's version of Streets *dies*

    I get the feeling they've spent a lot more time on it than Bomb which isn't necessarily a good thing but it's encouraging. I also get the feeling that it'll be a lot more innovative than the previous two. Rehearsing/recording in several spots....starting in Morocco of all places makes me think that they're really exploring and pushing the boundaries. I probably rate Bomb as the best thing they've done since Zooropa but it was conventional and a little pedestrian. This one won't be. It should be a cracker.

    Something that I've thought of lately is will Apple put out another special U2 iPod to commemorate the occasion??
