I also get the feeling that it'll be a lot more innovative than the previous two. Rehearsing/recording in several spots....starting in Morocco of all places makes me think that they're really exploring and pushing the boundaries. I probably rate Bomb as the best thing they've done since Zooropa but it was conventional and a little pedestrian. This one won't be. It should be a cracker.

Something that I've thought of lately is will Apple put out another special U2 iPod to commemorate the occasion??

i get the same feelings. and i highly highly doubt they will release another U2 iPod, will they do another iTunes commercial? Probably, which is fine

  2. Cool...think I might do that...that $55 price tag's a killer though. Oh well, the price we pay for our addiction. My local JB's gave me a date of 18 July but they were not very specific about it. They said it' still to be confirmed.

U2's new public relations director, Daniel Lanois, told Le Journal de Montreal last week that the band has finished recording the new album, and all that's left is to "finish up some mixes." You can read the interview en Francais, or rely on this translation from our good friend Beth:

"It's going to be different in several ways, but I think it's similar from one point of view, namely that it's going to push the known limits in the sound arena, the way Achtung Baby did in the past.

"Currently we're working within clearly defined creative periods. We meet somewhere and we work for two weeks on everything we can. Then we all go do whatever for three weeks, before getting together again. It requires some administration, but for the creative process it's as if everything were fresh every time we reunite."

    OMFG i can't wait
