1. Madness sounds exactly like fucking Down All the Days and i LOVE IT.
  2. Muse also playing iTune festival, 30th September.

  3. Muse, The Killers, Mumford, Lana, Norah Jones, Noel G, Jack White, Band Of Horses... Now THAT is some iTunes Festival
  4. It seems that Chris Martin indeed thinks Madness is great. Check it out at 2:45:

  5. I tend to agree. It's a funky number. Looking forward to hearing it live.
  6. Official video

  7. I liiiiiiike it More than the song in fact. My Madness appreciation has just greatly improved - and I only watched the vid from my phone!
  8. Just listened to Madness for the first time and loved it Sounds much more U2-ish than I expected, apart from the rhythm section, the singing melody is very Bono-like...IMO of course.
Anyway, loved the song and the video, good job
  9. had my first listen too, absolutely destroys Survival. two thumbs up from me; faith restored.
  10. Survival is what I would call a niche song. It was created to serve a very specific purpose (anthem for the Olympics) and it does so very effectively. Now in the context of the rest of the album, it's a decent song, maybe not fantastic, but decent.

I don't really have a better way of explaining that, or even another song that fits in that classification.

But anyways, I really liked the video for Madness for a few reasons. I felt it did an amazing job reflecting the image that came to my mind when I heard the song. From a conceptual standpoint, it's a work of genius. The two characters are at ease and, for the most part, oblivious of the chaos surrounding them. The song conveys a chaotic message dressed up in a serene package (Madness couldn't be musically further from Hysteria or Stockholm Syndrome, but the messages take a similar route). The dichotomy of serenity and chaos in the song is represented well in the video.
  11. YES. You put it perfectly, Alex. Well done!

  12. Stop! I forgot fucking lyrics! :D
