I'm adding nothing new to what's been said before, but I'll say it anyway: too much focus on the scenic part of the show, too few on the musical aspects. Matt plays guitar/piano less and less, each time there's more songs in which he only sings for most/all of the time; I'm ok with that (U2 fan, right?), but part of the absolute devotion that I feel (or felt) for him is that he was a GREAT piano+guitar player besides a good singer. Also he was a bit hoarse, as if he had just overcome a flu or a cold - not his fault, but something that undoubtedly affected the show in a very negative way. Other than that, the song choices are predictable and there are no rarities or hardcore-oriented songs whatsoever, it's absolutely a "new album + greatest hits" kind of gig.

Interesting thoughtsRegarding Matt's voice, was it his falsetto that sounded hoarse or just his voice in general? He started his vocal decline in 2015 and the long Drones tour really took a toll on him. At each gig I've been to from 2015 onwards I've noticed his falsetto has been very rough/scratchy, which is a shame to see. You can see it in the current shows too, lots of breaks for him to catch a breather. His vocal peak was undoubtedly 2012/13 but it's not his fault, age happens to us all.
Regarding the set, Manchester will be gig number 21 for me. I accepted after witnessing Shepherd's Bush in 2017 there was no way I'll ever see a set as strong, I can accept that this will be Simulation Theory and the hits, at least Take A Bow is still knocking around though! It's perplexing that they're still playing Undisclosed Desires (which is almost always a snoozefest for the crowd) yet they've not played Blockades/The Void live yet and fan favourites like Bliss and MotP aren't played, they'd really fit the 'feel' of this tour as well.
Still excited of course, but I can totally see your criticisms.
