Mysterious Ways being perfect on Vertigo- the other versions included too much farting around the real song, and Vertigo's just rocked.
One- I could really live with not seeing them play this live, but they must feel its their obligation. I only put it in my set because I believe that they'll play it, not because I want to hear it.
Pride- Overstayed it's welcome in the live community. Should have left after PopMart and made scarce, more inspired appearances on Elevation
Sunday Bloody Sunday- Amazing on every tour its ever been performed on except Vertigo, which means that Bono needs to take a hint and realize that they could be close to destroying one of thier masterpieces.
I DO NOT agree with Elevation needing a grunge re-working and being used as a closer, that song has always felt opener to me, and as for versions, I actually like both the Vertigo AND Elevation versions. I feel that it should be in an encore, since its been predominantly in their opening 3 for every show of 2 whole tours. Throwing it in as a early encore song would be cool.
Sorry my posts are so lengthy!
If you think that's a lengthy post my friend, you've got a lot to learn

If they brought back the Elevation tour format for Elevation, it would work well as an encore opener (although that would subsequently rule out any hopes I had of God Part II or Ultra Violet returning as regular encore openers!) but other than that I would not be heartbroken if they actually dropped it altogether. And I personally think Mysterious Ways has never been the same since ZooTV and Bono's falsetto part - the fact they retained the piano intro. during PopMart was a bonus, Elevation versions weren't too bad because of the funky buildup but Vertigo was awful in comparison.

To me, City of Blinding Lights is like Streets - it either needs to open or it needs to follow on from something. Bar the few times when they mastered the segue from AIWIY (the 2nd Milan sho being a good example, save for the fact that Edge came in too early whilst Adam was plinking away), it only came to life as a show opener. Beautiful Day, meh - I preferred the Elevation version to Vertigo by a long shot, but even so it's lost its appeal for me. That's not to say I wouldn't still go mad if I saw it played in concert - I'd be mad for the entire 2 hours anyway lol - it's more that I'd prefer them to go wild and give it a rest altogether. I still have a thing for Pride, and I'd rather have that over BD any day, and I've had enough of SBS UNLESS, that is, they bring back Edge's solo version. Other than that, I'd be quite happy to see it fade away...
