  1. I have an mp3 of a live version of "Another Time, Another Place" that I downloaded many years ago from Arnor, I think. The show it's from is not mentioned in the file info, but I was hoping someone here might be able to identify it so I can get the whole bootleg from this site. There's a lot of early shows with that song.

    About your question...I can't help you because my laptop has problems with MegaUpload. I'll try to help you as soon as I can. Maybe others will help you too. If the sound quality is good, I'd suggest to filter the early bootlegs on audio rating. Shows with 4- or 5-stars are very likely to be the show you're looking for.

    What surprised me is that there are a good number of early shows that have 4 or 5 star ratings. I didn't want to start downloading them all, since space on my computer is a little limited at the moment.

    I've also uploaded the song to my own web site, if you wanted to get it from there. I love this performance of ATAP, and the sound quality is very good, to boot (just some faint pops). I look forward to hearing the whole show, if it's available.

    I'd like to make two unrelated points, too:

    1. Anyone else notice that the Complete U2 set has been removed from iTunes? Wish I had realized it was a limited time thing...

    2. I have one of the East Rutherford, NJ PopMart shows on VHS (the one I was at) and I'm soon going to transfer it to DVD. I'm not sure how the sound quality compares to the version of the show already here, but if I think it's better, I'll let you know.

    Well, I'm not asking you to donwload all of them of course, don't get me wrong
    ...I'll download the song from that site! The show will be available for sure...otherwise this song wouldn't have been available at all, I think.
  5. It's not a Boy-performance, I think. Bono's voice sounds too developed for that...I think it's from the October/War era. Good recording, by the way

    They didn't play it that often during War..I'll check out some October shows tomorrow.

    I don't think many people did. It was only good for the Unreleased and Rare set anyway.

    Most of the POPmart shows have pretty good quality. I'd like to hear if it is better though.

    BTW, I checked out the PopMart vid (June 1, 1997) I have. The video was at first looking like it had degraded, then it looked fine after I stopped it and played it again. But then the sound was acting weird (dropping out, which it didn't used to), and the sound was going staticy on another tape I had (a problem which normally isn't there, either), so I'm thinking something's wonky with the audio setting on my VCR or a cable has gone bad or something. Hopefully the VCR is fine, since it's only a month old and worked great on the last concert tape I converted to DVD. I'm gonna check the tapes on a different VCR to see if they're okay. But listening to it again after so long, I'm not convinced the sound is better than the available recordings. I think it's from a different source that has a better, more natural mix of music and crowd than the version on this site or the soundboard version available at U2unes.com, but I'm not sure it's enough of a difference to worry about. If I get everything straight and the tape is okay, I'll likely post the whole concert on YouTube and you can decide for yourselves.

    It's funny I actually came across it, I downloaded the file and started listening to it. It sounded familiar. I checked it against all my Another Time performances and sure enough a perfect match. It helped that this is a concert I had been listening to recently. Crazy huh?!!

    I have the same similar situation where I found a VHS of a ZooTV performance. I have no idea when the concert was. I wish I knew so I could download the performance. I actually recorded it straight off of FOX.. It's cool it has Edge playing video games and a film crew going around backstage. It's hard to tell when it was performed. If any one could help on this that would awesome!!!

  12. What's even cooler, Roxanne, is that the sound quality of the concert on here is better than the one I had. It sounds like someone cleaned up the show a bit. Nice. Damn, is this a great show. I've never heard a complete U2 concert from this era before. Thanks, again.
