    I've noticed this picture is obviously from a show where they started before sundown, much like the second leg of the Vertigo tour. Did this happen often for Popmart? I don't really see that show working as well as Vertigo did during the day
  2. The shows I've been to started during daylight. If I remember right, all the early european gigs did, can't remember how it was in the US, though, sorry...
  3. well the shows in holland ( Rotterdam) started at 21.30 or 9.30 pm ...
    so it was on the 18 of july and at that time the sun is just going under ....
    so when the show started it's just getting dark .....
    but it was amazing a very great light show ....
    also because there where more lights in the stadium because they broadcasted
    a part and was sending it out over europe ....on tv
    it's also as extra on the popmart live in mexico dvd

  5. most of the outdoor stadium shows like the European leg of the vertigo tour and most of popmart usually have curphews. (however you spell it). So they have to start the show earlier than usual. I agree though. I def. don't think the shows work as well during daylight. Theres certain songs that night just really compliments really well. Imagine "ISHFWILF" on popmart being played during the day....ehhhh...but yeh it stinks but once night falls, the show really elevates to another level. And usually its only about 3-4 songs in.
  6. I was just watching the DVD of the 2nd show from London 05 and it's practically daylight right up until Streets. Bit of a bummer I thought. Lucky bastards in Cardiff though got a dark intro

    yep. If you type in popmart on youtube a few interviews will come up with canada. It started during the day as the tv station showed some live clips. That is also when Bono was coming out in the blue boxing robe and not the black one

    one of the most fascinating pro-shots i've watched to date. Just a guy running about the stage with a camera on his back for the first 25 or so minutes. Great viewing.
  11. I attendet popmart at Cologne and later at Dublin II.

    Dublin was a stadium show so that the stands took much of rest of daylight at the start of the show. Daylight was not a big thing that day. Also Dublin was near the end of summer.

    Cologne was a plain field. Show day was a wonderful summer day. I rembember the show starting under full dayligth sun! You could not see anything on the screens but the sound was brilliant and the band´s playing was so great that no one complained. But it needed a lot of time to get the sun out of the screen...
