1. Bought it today, together with the new Elbow album by the way.

First and second listen: I like Collapse, but I liked Accelerate better from the first time I heard that.
  2. It's not that spectacular for R.E.M. to not tour after an album release, nevertheless I'd have loved to see them again.

But have they confirmed it? I hope it's a temporal live-hiatus
  4. Yep, it's confirmed.
  5. Ouch. Oh well, I hope they do some summer festivals anyway. Thanks for the info

  6. Its almost better because when they tour on the next one they'll have 2 albums of new material to play AND the demand will boost (remember that the accelerate tour by the end wasn't filling up at all venues)
  7. IF there'll be another album, that is. I wouldn't be too surprised if they called it a day or took a long break.
  8. I hope you're terribly wrong - I haven't seen them live yet!
  9. It would be the perfect moment for them. They're free of their warner deal, Peter and Mike are busy with their own projects, Michael is focused on his arts...

  10. But it woulnd't be the perfect moment for me!!

Whatever happened to Tired Pony? Is it still "active" in any way?
  11. New R.E.M. Album "collapse into now" was released today here . I like it so far, though not surprising since I loved their last one "Accelerate". Not heard everything yet but "Blue" is my favourite, it sounds a bit like E-Bow and Oh My heart is a great one too.

Despite the 3 years or so between albums their sound hasn't changed much, in fact, CIN is so similar to Accelerate in ways that it sounds like you've heard this one before.
Other than feeling similar to Accelerate, for you older fans you'll be interested to know it actually sounds similar to Around the sun too (IMO).

No complaints about this one so far!. should be getting a lot of play time on my iPhone
