1. There are two chances at trying to see them.... they're selling tix for both Boston Garden shows (i think ones in Aug, the other in Nov) on the 12th and 14th (of this month). Thing is, I have a book sale to save for to buy my books for next school year. The sale's on the 14th. Looks like I'm gonna have to use stubhub and ticketmaster, then again, I was gonna use those anyway. Or... I could pay my friend to get some good tickets. His dad works security at the Garden.
  2. i saw the secret gig they played last week here in holland ( in Paradiso) they aired it on saturday on tv.

They need to get used to it. Remember U2 playing OOTS for the first time...

Or any Pop stuff for the first time...
  5. I don't really know whether I like it or not... It's complety different to what i'm used to by Coldplay... I have my doubts...
  6. I hated Coldplay until I heard Viva la Vida which is absolutely fantastic. They grew a lot with this record, A LOT.
  7. Viva La Vida from Amsterdam, if you haven't seen it yet:

  8. By the way...I know we talked a lot about U2 and Coldplay comparisons...I myself don't think it's as much as is said...it is there, but not that much...but...have any of you seen the iTunes ad for Viva La Vida?

I don't know why...it reminds me a lot of U2...maybe Vertigo's original video mixed with the iPod ad...something like that. Is it just me?!
  9. am I talking to myself here?!
Anyway, another interesting bit about Viva La Vida I found on wikipedia:

Anton Corbijn is set to direct the music video for the song on a Dutch beach. The band has called the idea for the video "groundbreaking."

    Nice, eh?
  10. The apple commercial is pretty similar to the U2 clip, right. Apple is building up a corporate identity with these clips, so it's pretty natural that they are related.
Anton Corbijn has directed a gazillion of Music Videos, some of them had a beach setting.

If you're searching for similarities, you'll find some - but this comparison thing is getting really lame.

The Beatles once had 5 members, than 4. They also worked with Rick Rubin. Damn U2 assholes copy them.

lol, I know man, I wasn't really comparing them with the Corbijn thing, the only comparison was the videos which I think you're right. The Corbijn thing, as stated above is just "nice" , I like the song, would like to see Corbijn's job on it, specially when they call it "groundbreaking"!
