1. I'm bloody serious.

Nowadays, Coldplay is the band with most resemblance to The Beatles.

When we will be old, we will remember Coldplay as we remember The Beatles now.

Oh god, I had a little girl behind me singing during 'Everybody's Not Lost' at T in the Park... she was terrible
  3. You can still watch the concert, Thibaut. Just stop the torrent and open the mp4 file as it had finished downloading... It shoudl work

Hahahahaah, I'm not a big fan of The Beatles at all but comparing The Beatles with Coldplay really doesnt make any sense.

And I agree with Yogi, dont like MX at all. Paradise and Major Minus are good but I'm not sure about the other songs.
  6. I shouldn't say things like this, for I know my English is too bad to explain what I'm thinking. And I am just stupid.

Your English is perfect, it's just an over-statement.

I only say the things I can say.

What I mean: when we are sixty, we will say 'Remember Coldplay?' 'Yeah, that guys really rocked.'
Coldplay is such is big band at the moment, most likely the biggest, just like The Beatles were at that time. I think Coldplay will eventually do something really spectacular, something every band from then on will do.

Ofcourse, there are people around that hate Coldplay, but there were also people that hated The Beatles (read: the Stones addicts).

And yes, I know The Beatles are the fathers of all rock bands.
  9. They're just too different to be compared like that. Coldplay is not being as groundbreaking (or at all) as The Beatles were at their time... They're relevant and successful, right, but they just can't be compared (yet?? Maybe in a few years...) to bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen or even U2. It just can't be done.

I'm fine with you loving them, I love them too, but I'm also aware of the fact that they're just "another" band in a too diverse world. In the 50s, 60s and 70s there were fewer "big bands" than there are now. For rexample, nowadays there are bands with millions of followers in some countries that most of the world hasn't heard of, and viceversa. Or bands with millions of young followers that aren't known at all among the adult general public (that's specially notorious with Muse). Today, there are too many worldwide-big bands to call only one of them the "biggest": Muse, The Killers, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, etc etc etc... All of them have millions of followers (both casuals and die hards), but none of them -or their fans- can claim to be as big and unique as The Beatles were. Thanks for your vision on the matter, Fabian, but it's just not right
  10. On the other side, there have been a lot of talented bands since The Beatles, but none of them really added something.
  11. I don't listen to the Beatles :/
