    Ah I see. I used to watch channel 5's Serie A coverage this season but after a while lost interest...also sometimes used to catch this highlights programme on channel 4 at some godforsaken hour which has all the leagues, but to be honest it's at such a stupid hour that I can't be bothered lol. If we got Setanta, it might change things...I usually just keep abreast of the Football League, SPL and EPL (aswell as the major leagues like you say, but not on a regular basis)...

    Haha, the English Premier League is getting a bit tedious for me, for me, it seems to have lost it's unpredictability. In terms of smaller teams doing well etc. No doubt we have some of the best talent in the world here though.

    Haha, I remember. 2-0 wasn't it? Kept you in the race to avoid relegation though, and what an epic relegation battle we had. Four teams battling it out to avoid relegation.

    It most certainly was, Dean Ashton and Leon McKenzie. We should have stayed up that season, but we well and truly fucked up at Craven Cottage...a lot of the Premier divisions across Europe are predictable now, I mean you have "the big four" in the EPL, the Old Firm in the SPL, the main 3/4 in Italy (Inter, Milan, Roma and Juve) and in Spain it's usually Real Madrid and Barca battling it out.

    To the lower leagues of the world - we salute you!

    I mean yeah, Norwich have had a shocking season BUT it's been engaging - one week you beat someone 5-1, the next you get trounced 3-0 and then draw 2-2. Great stuff for the eyes, if not the heartrate...

    My pleasure Casper lol. Real football for the real fans...usually...although to be fair, REAL fans support the big clubs too, it's just that their image has been tarnished by corporate sponsorships and FAR TOO MUCH MONEY coming into the game...

    I usually think: Big clubs are about money, small clubs in the lower divisions are about real pleasure and football..joy to watch.

    Here here. I'd like to stick the Football League in with the "smaller club" category because as a rule, the money is nowhere near as rife as that with the big leagues, even though the Championship is one of the best supported leagues in Europe (although that said, there are 24 teams lol...). There's is great stuff played in the lower leagues of English football, but it's rarely picked up by the media - you'd think that football only started in 1992 if you only read the Sun...
  12. Well, I'll eat my hat. I say about smaller clubs not being able to compete, then find out that Heskey has earned Wigan a point against Chelsea! Massive news for United, almost certain to win the league now.


    Still not relishing Barcelona. We can beat them, i'm confident we can perform well. But it's going to be tense. Last time we met them was the group stages of 1998/1999 and both of those games finished 3-3. As exciting as that would be, I don't think i could take it.
