Lol, indeed - in time, he could be great, but at the moment he's simply a very good player who's had a few standout performances on a big-stage, but playing Inter Milan at the San Siro is a far-cry from a rainy night at Ewood Park . . . it's not even a case of double-marking etc., fact is English teams' defences have the measure of him. In Europe, no one knew about him, and he proved to be a Joker in the pack. I mean, think Rubin Kazan - in the last couple of years, they've been one of the few teams to consistently trouble Barca in the Champions' League, I mean I don't know about any of you guys but I won't forget their 2-1 win at the Nou Camp a couple of seasons back. Why? Because no one know enough about them and got rumbled. Are Rubin the greatest team in Europe? Hell no, but they knew Barca and Barca didn't know them, and they got the better of them on more than one occasion.
That said, I like Bale and hope he fulfils his potential.
