1. WE? C'mon! You're getting personal! I hate when people talk of their team in first person, it makes me sick... Too much fanatism
  2. Can't believe we're out.
  3. Yeah, both Manchester teams are out, shocking This morning there was a very interesting article on a Spanish newspaper entitled "The Manchester disaster"...

To be fair, neither deserved to go through. United have played some shocking football up until now. Letting Basel get back in the game at Old Trafford was a disgrace. Gifiting them the first goal last night and then failing to put away some clear chances was almost as bad.

It's time the players took a long hard look at themselves and start playing the United way. In times gone by you were lucky to even get a sniff of goal when playing United, especially at Old Trafford. Teams would travel there and plan how not to concede more than 3. Now they go there and think they can take something away with them.

Why should I be called bartajax? Maybe because im a fan?
  6. A little post from France on all that buzz on the Lyon's match.

Since this morning, there were a few comments coming from Spain and the Netherlands saying the game could have been tricked. Obivously, here, no medium has related such a thing. However, they have told what the Dutch and Spanish newspapers said. Well, that seems to be based more on frustration and jealousy than on pure facts.

    - It's obvious for Dutch people that it's hard to believe. Here, it's even harder actually. The match result has been the lead story today on the news. Nobody can believe it. However, nothing proves (or not) that the game would have been tricked. When you see the video of the famous wink by the Zagreb defender; there's nothing less obvious than complicity between he and Gomis.

    - Here, people say that the Spanish newspaper reaction is more based on some kind of "revenge" after Yannick Noah's words on Spanish sportmen being doped.

Anyway, I must say I can understand one can wonder about what happened, since it is completely unbelievable. The ARJEL is an official and independant organization, of which mission is to check if everything is alright about bets. And it seems there were lower bets on Lyon winning than average. So no worries on that side.

However, my thoughts are with Bart and all Ajax supporters, who must be more than disappointed tonight. Ajax does not deserve what has happened, but Lyon showed yesterday an awesome character strength.
  7. I dont believe the game was bought, but your argument 'lower bets on Lyon winning than average' doesnt say much. Except that it wasnt on very large scale There is so much commotion because Zagreb was suspect in a case before and that the 'winker' is seen leaving a betting office. Potentially he could have made extra money out of losing.

Again I dont care much for the match in Zagreb, for me the main issue that ruined my night were the 2 cancelled goals. The whole match didnt seem fair after that, also didnt help that Real only got 3 real chances and scored them all... While ajax, again needed to many chances. Anyway a night to forget

So sad that many sports are leaded by dinosaurs / heated up corpses. Football and F1 for example would benefit if those two leave the sport to the ones who participate.
  8. UEFA has now released a statement to calm the suggestions of foul play after reports appeared in various newspapers around the continent.

The statement read: "UEFA is aware of, and has taken note, of the press coverage surrounding yesterday's games and the various allegations made by the media.

"UEFA also considers the integrity of its own competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, as an absolute priority and pays extra attention to all games. We have also implemented a Betting Fraud Detections System (BFDS) as a tool against match-fixing - a system which monitors 29,000 games a season including all UEFA matches, and utilises data from more than 400 betting companies.

"For the time being this system has not shown any irregular betting patterns around yesterday's games or their outcome that would justify any inquiry on that front."

A photo has emerged of a Dinamo Zagreb player emerging from a bookmaker, reportedly on Tuesday, while some suggestions on social networks have been made of a wink being directed by Domagoj Vida towards Lyon striker Batefembi Gomis after a goal.
  9. Having seen some betting offices in croatia i highly doubt all of them are contained in those 400.

  11. As much as I hate the phrase I'm about to use, I'll make one exception.

    +1.
  12. Nemanja Vidic ruled out for the season. Time for the young lads to grow a pair and step up to the task.
