    Well I don't know how he's been playing either but he's the kind of player we need. Carrick is his current equal, but I'd say Ballack's defending and holding nature is much better. Carrick probably has a greater range of passing. The big difference is that Ballack is a leader and will set the players straight when they mess up. Something we massively miss.

    Yes , Guarin moved to Inter..is a good player with a lot to give , he is not going to save the team ....

    Lucho moved to Porto ( return) after 2 and half year in France
  4. None of the big clubs are really doing anything in England. United have sold a couple of players (Diouf, Morrison), Arsenal have loaned a player out, Chelsea haven't moved...

    Usually it all kicks off in the last hour

    EDIT: And if things weren't bad enough, De Gea has called in sick and Lindegaard is now injured. Looks like Tomasz Kuszczak will play tonight.

    EDIT2: Maybe I should have a walk down to Old Trafford, see if I can spot any big name players

  7. anyone remember Rudi Assauer? he was manager of Schalke 04 for two times, he made Schalke matter again in the 90s and 00s, it was with him we won the "4-minutes-championship" in 2001 before Bayern Munich stole the title again, he signs responsible for.... well, I don't want to bore you. For many things, the important things. One of those rare characters that fans will remember forever.

    Anyway, news are out today that Assauer has Alzheimers, and already for two years. So sad for this man, a true original of our area
  8. Sad news indeed. Particularly for those who have a real association with him, such as yourself and the rest of the Schalke fans. Best thing about football, in the times of need, there will be a legion of supporters right behind him.

    that´s true. it´s amazing and weird at the same time to be online at the S04 forum right now. everyone, everyone shares the sadness and plans for the message of support on Saturday before the match. it is like a shared memory of the days he brought to us, and the tears are flowing. That happening on a fanbase that is too used to fight each other verbally on the forum is a strange thing to witness. it always takes the sad and bad things to make people remember what really matters in life

    Absolutely, personal health and life take priority over everything. I'm sure even Schalke's rival fans will be feeling for the guy.

    I've just realised, the Munich Air Disaster will be remembered at the next United home game, against Liverpool...they're already in for a bad day because of Suarez, but if their fans are disrespectful during the build up, they'll be in for a nightmare.

    oh that´s right, on February 6. Geez, it gives me the chills to look at the pictures again. The tragedy of that is impossible to form into words you know what, in 2008 I bumped into Bobby Charlton by pure chance, he was doing a book signing in a book shop in Dublin. I made photos of him back then.... and only now, with the help of a bit of research, I realize he was one of them who survived the crash

    I hope there will be enough respect on all sides for an honorable moment of remembrance before that home game, but usually (...) people stand united in such moments, no matter which team is r was affected. It will be emotional though for sure.

    There was a small made-for-TV film made about it called 'United' was on last year and it was a truly touching film, even my girlfriend was touched by it and she doesn't watch much football. Some Liverpool fans falsley made up a story about United fans spitting on the Hillsborough memorial after the recent FA Cup game, so there's a little bad blood already between the two clubs. If Liverpool were to go behind in the game, I wouldn't put it past a small section of their fans to start a song up.

    Both tragedies deserve their due respect, particularly for the memory of those who perished.
