1. today exactly one year ago Schalke won the away game vs Inter Milan 5:2 and made up for the defeat in the home game, marching into the semil final of CL. It went down in the team history as "Miracle of San Siro". Why not another miracle in Bilbao tonight, I say?
    iBelieve

  2. My question would be "Why?". David De Gea is actually in fine form now, making some really good saves. He's gone from being a potential £18m flop to one of the best goalkeepers in the league. Sure, he's still got a lot to learn but this is mainly mental experience. He needs to hit the gym and bulk up, but he's already said that he's doing that. He needs to be more commanding in the area and be in control of the defenders in front of him. Instead of just bailing them out with a good save, step up and give them some mouth afterwards.

He has great potential. Julio Cesar wouldn't necessarily be a bad signing, would make De Gea work hard for his place as #1 but he'd also provide much more experienced cover for De Gea than Anders Lindegaard. £9m for another goalkeeper, particularly as back up, is a little steep. That sort of money could be invested in the midfield area or right back.

    it's 9mil €
Julio would be very helpful in letting DeGea grow, always if he accepts that role
i would be very sorry if he will leave, he could do the same with Viviano, other young goalkeeper in our area .. but that cash would help the process of rebuild and rejuvenate for next season
  5. Well, £7.4m is still a bit too much for a back up goalkeeper. I don't think it'll happen personally. Money needs to be spent elsewhere and if we did need another goalkeeper for precaution, I think there's cheaper alternatives with enough experience.

No discredit to Cesar though, I've always held him in high regard.
  6. Dont see that happening either. De Gea was a long term investment that has started to pay off. Good keeper.

[dutch-pride]Not as good as Edwin van der Sar though[/dutch-pride]
  7. tell it to juventus supporter hehe
  8. Edwin Van Der Sar

  9. I tune in just as Bilbao score. I'll turn it off Kirsten
