  2. Playing with less players would be my prefered option. 5 vs 5 on a smaller pitch in the center of the field. First one till x goals wins

    - Whoever has the most shots on target wins
    - Each team loses a man every 5 minutes
    - Run from the halfway line and shoot - in others sports works. Too easy for the players not for the goalkeepers
    - Keepers can't use their hands - interesting
    - Make the goals bigger in extra-time

    I love the "Each team loses a man every 5 minutes" suggestion, would be greatly entertaining.
