1. Yeah, they were good in the first game when I was attending, then they got so depressed when I left that the rest of August was horrible. Since then it's been a different story. Lacazette is the top goalscorer in the league (and I think second in Europe) with nineteen goals after 20 rounds, Lyon is also the top goalscoring team... and now we lead the league as well.

I watched the game yesterday on a stream from England... it was quite funny because the commentators got super-excited about Lyon.

Also, we've been starting 7.6 former academy players per game. I doubt very many teams can match that at this level.
  2. Joachim Löw best coach. Deserved I'd say!

Let's see what effect success will have on that. The combination of increased exposure of those academy players to bigger teams, the need to stay competitive, and the increased income will surely strain that number. Admirable though at this stage.

  4. Tought decision though. World Cup winner, Champions League winner, and Simeone who broke the Barca/Madrid stranglehold and pushed Madrid right to the wire in the UCL.

Yeah, of course, but we should at least make a lot of money which is good for the future. It's still something to build on. What's good is that some of those really exciting players are at least signed to quite long contracts. The two hottest players are probably Lacazette and Fekir. They're signed until 2018 and 2019 respectively.

I have a soft spot for Simeone but Low has been a better coach overall I think.
  7. So Ronaldo won it, as expected. Rodriquez won goal of the year award (boo, van Persie should've won ).

Biggest joke of the evening: David Luiz in team of the year
  8. From BBC:

The tactical voting (or stupid pettiness?) between the world's best two players continues. Neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi voted for the other.
Ronaldo's choices were Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema - in that order. Spot the link.

And Messi's picks were Angel Di Maria, Andres Iniesta and Javier Mascherano. Another not-so-hard-to-see connection there. Javier Mascherano?! Even Mrs Mascherano wouldn't have put her husband in the top three...
  9. Ronaldo again... oh well.

That moment had to come some day This week was tough, 75% of us predicted 0 or just only 1 match correctly. Alvin I will catch you again, I promise!

  10. Simeone deserved it. He had a lot and better work to put his team there . Anyway any of the 3 deserve an award

Good for Messi who voted one player form Real Madrid !
