We didn t see the best of Maradona( you are younger than me ) . Messi for older people is not that fantastic . But is ok . Always is there the discussion about Maradona, Pele , etc .
Anyway i think Messi was part of the best team in history football too and he was the best player but he did ( and does ) a lot of assists nad passes too . Of course i respect your opinion and they are/were different kind of players .( i love Messi and when some talk like this start i can t stop )
  2. hahaha, it's ok Pato, of course I respect your opinion too. I'm sure that if we go to the cold hard facts in terms of statistics, goals, and the competition he had, Messi will be the best ever, but Zidane left us so many feats and memories in the most important games, and that's what (unfair or not) is remembered in the long term.
I tell you this: I think that the legends from the romantic era (Di Stefano, Pele, etc.) didn't have this incredibly tough competition. The game became incredibly physical nowadays, who knows how well these players would do today, don't you agree?
  3. Admire a player or thinking he is the best are different things, at least for me. Messi is the best player I have seen, but I always liked Pirlo, Zlatan, Zidane and Ronaldinho more. C Ronaldo is a great player but I just can't stand him, that doesn't make him bad or something but I just don't like him.

Sure, it won't be easy. This is one of the strongest semi-final groupings for some while.
the only nice thing in that final was the stadium

Pato think Messi in Napoli or Argentina of those years and think Maradona in Barcelona or Argentina of these years ..
  5. Messi might be the best scorer, the best runner, the best shooter... But Zidane was a step higher. He had style, he had grace, he worked for the team and even though he could have been a fantastic scorer he chose to stay mid-field and make his teams work better as a whole. THAT is what the "best player" award should be all about in my opinion, not about who scores 50000 goals in a season.
  6. I'll just say this: if my team is playing a final or a crucial match, I'd rather have Zidane on my team than 2 Messis.
  7. Who would be in your all-time starting eleven then?
  8. That's a tough one, I'll need some time. I'd love to hear about other u2starters.
  9. easy
Julio Cesar Maicon, Lucio, Samuel Chivu Zanetti, Cambiasso Stankovic Sneijder Eto'o Milito
    or
Zenga Bergomi Ferri Mandorlini Brehme Berti Matteoli Matthaus Bianchi Serena Diaz
  10. According to World Soccer, this is the best team of all times:

Lev Yashin ; Cafú , Bobby Moore, Franz Beckenbauer , Paolo Maldini ; Johan Cruyff , Alfredo Di Stéfano , Zinedine Zidane , Diego Maradona ; Pelé , Lionel Messi.

Hard to disagree there. I never saw Lev Yashin or Bobby Moore. I could include Schmeichel instead of Yashin and Baresi for Moore. Other than that, it's pretty solid, don't you think?
  11. TONIGHT. I'm so looking forward to this match. It'll probably be disappointing then but it could be amazing.
  12. It will be amazing although I expect few goals.
