1. Messi wants out at Barca then ? Where does he go ? Who can afford him ?
  2. He says he can go For free because of opt out clause in his contract
  3. Crazy that he can possibly walk for free but it might also cost 700 million. Somebody at Barcelona messed up.
  4. he played there for 15 years, with huge success, he can walk away for free, no problem. They got him for free as well. In the end not a bad deal. I think what it says is; no one can buy Messi, but still he's free to go. Anyway, a player like Messi decides what's in his contract, not the club. He could have signed 1 year deal's every year which would have give him the opportunity to leave at the end of every year. I think it's a bit short-sighted to say someone mess(i)ed up. Of course now they still try to get some money out of it which would be very welcome to built a new team.

This clause that allows him to leave for free expired in June though , the original close season . But because of coronavirus the season got extended so messi is saying that clause extended . Work that one out in court
  6. I think a compromise will be reached. He’s not leaving for free but they’re getting nowhere near £700million. If someone offers £250million they’ll take it, maybe even a good bit less. Otherwise they’ve just lost £250million for the sake of 1 season as he’ll be able to leave for free at the end of next season. In fact they probably will get a lot less. They’d essentially be loaning him for a year at whatever offer they rejected because they’ll get nothing for him at the end of the season.

seems like City is preparing a 200 million euro offer. Well, maybe this is the best time to make the deal.
  8. A 200 million offer for a 33 year old is obscene, don’t forget on top of that would be his wages which would also be obscene.

Signing Messi would promote city to the European elite gang though. Something I don’t think there anywhere near at the moment.Signing Messi would probably be more valuable to them then winning the European cup as regards building the brand. How much would they make back in sponsorship deals and shirt sales?

  10. Real Madrid appears to make 350 million in commercial activities. There's a lot of money to get there and having Messi on your side for sure will help a lot. I don't think money itself will be the biggest issue here, biggest challenge might be to fit it in with the financial fairplay rules. I also read something about a combined deal with New York City FC; 3 years (Man) City, then 2 years NY City.

So,effectively it’s a 5 year contract contracted to the owners of Man City, who of course own New York City, and Melbourne City in Aus.I’m led to believe this leaving Barcelona on a ‘free’ agreement expired on 30th June,he had to tell them and go before then. But with the pandemic, who knew?

Even if Man City get him, then proceed to claim a Champions League win, they’ll need to win at least 2 more to be classed as elite in Europe.Chelsea only won 1 at the height of their success, with an interim manager too. They aren’t elite.Barcelona will rue the day they got Koeman, dreadful coach. My club are still paying the price of his decisions 3 years ago.Hes’s an absolute tube.

I hope Messi does come to the Premier League, fun to be had there.Straight in to my Fantasy team no danger lol
