1. If they re-release their whole back catalogue will they finally recognize Pop for what it is?
  2. U2 Universal Music announce this release dates:

    Boy a October - 10. Juni 2008
    Under A Blood Red Sky - 24. Juni 2008

what about a new album announcment?
  4. Honestly guys, here's my opinion. I know a lot of the people here hate it when people call U2 sell outs, and these new cds may not be their decision, it might be the producers or something, but they would still have to approve of it. And to be honest, re-releasing all of their albums, even their first 3, would seem a little desperate to me. I just remember watching an interview from the UF era, and the edge says something like "If one of us ever gets too media crazy, they'll get a good kick in the arse from the rest of the band" Now, it's too bad, because it seems like they're all getting there with these stupid re-releases. Sure, I really enjoyed the new Paris dvd and the b-sides, but the cd wasn't a big change for me. Sure I can hear a difference all right, but the cd I had before was perfectly fine. Boy, October, and War are already perfectly fine. It seems like their either desperate for fans or desperate for money, and it's kind of sad to say, because I love U2 and they're my favourite band, it's like my religion, but still. I'd love to have a red rocks dvd, that would make sense because that would just be like moving the old video to the new generation (dvd) of movies. But all these cds are a little much.
Don't flame me too badly, but thats my two cents.

It's been on my mind too...I mean re-releasing the JT, as their successful (and maybe their best) album could make sense, specially with that DVD, but these 3...I don't know

Releasing Boy is great as is October. I guess recently-converted fans can learn the greatness of recently played songs like Stories For Boys, Out of Control, I Will Follow, Gloria, The Ocean and anything else they played from those albums on the recent tours.

But really, do we need another version of Sunday Bloody Sunday on War? Here's what I can remember it being released on as audio:

    War (Original Recording)
    Sunday Bloody Sunday (Single)
U2 The Best of 1980-1990 (Regular Edition)
Under A Blood Red Sky Live
If God Will Send His Angels (Single)
Elevation Slane 2001 Live CD (U2.com)

Well, if it leads to them playing more old-not-played-before songs, then I'm ok with it!

That's what I was thinking. Imagine pulling out Shadows and Tall Trees, or even Two Hearts Beat As One. Although, they did play ''40'', so that's still pretty cool.
  9. to be honest if the extras are good ill buy them but it has to be worth it..
a remastered version of the albums... the sound its just the same for me... alitlle difference but thats it

JT has great extras so it was worth the 40 euros

    but war, october, boy..
    i like the sound already!
but well see what extras its got
  10. Have a read of this from Wikipedia:

The album is to be re-released as a remastered CD with a bonus disc on May 20, 2008 with the rest of U2's back catalogue to follow.

Don't quote me, but you take a look through the early shows and various dates bootlegs, you'll find a lot of what is gonna be included on the Boy remaster. I do like the enhanced sound - much of the enhancement takes place around removing the hiss - which, if you fire up a program like Audition, SoundBooth or Audacity and do a test on the hiss, you wouldn't believe it - it is that heavy.

Boy I didn't notice a lot of hiss. But October and War were killers for it with heaps of hissing.

So we could remaster them ourselves?
  12. What do you think, will UABRS contain the DVD version of the home video?
