    UTEOTW

    Acrobat
    So Cruel
    Promenade
    Bullet
    Running To Stand Still
    Like a Song
    The Unforgettable Fire
    God Part II
    The First Time
    Love is Blindness
    Mofo

    on it and challenge them

    a) not to be impressed, and
    b) to still say all the songs are the same

I've done it a few times and it's not failed me yet. I did a topic where we chose the songs, but I can't find it...

That would make one awesome alternative commpilation I have to say, although the problem is that one of the other predominant reasons they don't like U2 is because they think Bono's a prick (I don't agree but in a world where pro-active people get frowned upon, I can understand them), that Edge is a shit guitarist because he doesn't rip out 7 minute solos (and that his work is easy to replicate - HA!) and that it's not heavy enough or got the same kind of energy as a lot of the modern punk-metal rubbish that's around these days. Also, I've not got enough CD-Rs to do for all of them lol...

To those people, I say enjoy your Fergie, Nickleback, and Kanye West and let me enjoy the real music.

Lemon would be an awesome addition

Let me guess. They're into Linkin Park and Good Charlotte?

Yes! Add to that list The Gallows, Sum 41 etc. lol and you've pretty much got your finger on the button. I hate that crap...

Is my disdain for Kanye West apparent enough? I don't know what U2 was thinking allowing him to open for them.

    In which case...

    Live versions of
Love and Peace (that guitar solo?! Makes my ears bleed)
Bullet (suggest Boston DVD or the Stay single)
    Mofo (MTV Video Music Awards)

It's heavy enough to sink through lead.

And don't tell them it's U2. They'll never know, love it and then when they ask who all those bands were on that kick-ass compilation you did are you can tell them it's just one......

    Ha!! Just a tad...

    Universal will have 'suggested' him.

We got Starsailor and The Killers

Not a bad idea. Give them the ol' sneak attack!

Too true. I would have loved to see the Killers. I was reading a review from the local newspaper in Portland when they came through at the end of the 2nd North American leg, and it said that the crowd didn't know what to make of Kanye West, so they just kind of stood there politely as he "rapped" and then waited for U2's set to start.

I'd take Killers to open any day over Kanye West. KW was like a fish out of water when he toured with U2 in Australia. Did not get the crowd started at all - it was just the wrong crowd.
In saying that I do have Stronger on my iPod right now.
