1. Dropping by to introduce myself.

I am origianlly from Vermont, but live in upsate NY now. Not to sound like John Cusak, but a little about me:

    Top 5 bands:
    1) U2
    2) The Beatles
    3) The Velvet Underground (and Lou solo)
    4) Oasis
    5) The Rolling Stones

    Top 5 new bands:
    1) The Killers
    2) The Strokes
    3) Arcade Fire (though the second album is terrbile)
    4) Jet
    5) The Arctic Monkeys

Top 5 U2 albums (love them all though):
    1) ATYCLB
    2) Achtung Baby
    3) The Joshua Tree
    4) HTDAAB
    5) Boy

Top 5 U2 songs not named Streets, One, and Bad (love them all though):
    1) Walk On
    2) So Cruel
    3) Out of Control
    4) Original of the Species
    5) Gone

    Top 5 U2 bootlegs:
Well that is why I am here. I am bored with the fan club releases after so many repeated spins and I need to expand my U2 live mind. My only concern is that diving in too deep will engulf me too much into U2 and neglect the rest of my catalogue, but I am willing to give it a shot.

Thoughts on bands compared to U2:
Like some Coldplay songs, but not necessarily the albums.
Like some Radiohead albums. Absolutely love the Bends and warming up to OK Computer lately.

    Peace
  2. impressive introduction
  3. Now that's more like it!
Welcome, I'm Ali from Tehran...glad to meet you!

And by the way..."1366" in your nickname, that's the year I was born in Persian calendar!
  4. Great to meet ya! I think we have really similar tastes. (I'm sure you'll find quite a few people here who will say that!) Anyways, if you're looking to expand your live U2 catalog, you've come to the right place. Welcome!
  5. Welcome AchtungBaby1366 (I suppose you were not born back then..)

Glad to see someone who has ATYCLB on first position...
  6. Great
My favorite U2 album is ATYCLB too

What part of Vermont are you from?
  7. Good Man

Nice intro. I like your top 5 U2 songs and how you did them.

If you're getting into boots, you may be interested in our Bootleg Round Table. Check out the topic ( look in active topics, it's there - sorry I can't do links for you as I'm on my iPod ). Basically we listen to one boot a week and give our thoughts on them. There's also a summary topic showing the ones we've done so far to give you some ideas. Feel free to join us.

And don't worry about too much U2. We all still have a healthy interest in other stuff and it will crop up on here. With your favourites list you can't go wrong in this community.

I hope you continue to enjoy the site and get the answers you need in your other topic (I'd give Nero or iTunes a try if I were you).

    See you around
  8. Welcome! Love your choice of top albums.
  9. Welcome!!!
    very nice intro!!
I hope you have a great time around!!
    cheers from Argentina!
  10. Thanks for the love everyone. Seems like a very friendly and helpful bunch.

    13 Dan Marino
    66 Mario Lemieux

That is cool about the calendar.

    Rutland, Vermont. Where in NH?

Glad to see some of you have ATYCLB as #1. It is my bad day album. Always makes me think and never fails to put me in a positive mood. For that reason, it will always be #1. Second only to Abbey Road for me when including all bands.

I hate Duke though, sorry bro.

I saw that Bootleg round table thread. Sounds like a great idea. I will get in there eventually.
  11. It's cool about the Duke thing
I run into that a lot
I live in Plainfield, NH, right on the NH / VT border
and the Beatles rule by the way
  12. hello to ya sir
